Media Release:

A resurgent season highlighted by a third major championship has earned West Australian Minjee Lee a record fourth Greg Norman Medal at Tuesday night’s PGA Awards in Brisbane.

A night dedicated to the accomplishments of PGA Members across all areas of the golf industry in Australia and internationally to formally kick off BMW Australian PGA Championship week, the PGA Awards also acknowledge our world-class players at home and abroad.

For the first time since Karrie Webb and Geoff Ogilvy in 2006, Australia had two individual major winners in 2025.

Lee became just the fourth Australian with at least three major titles when the 29-year-old completed a three-stroke win at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Less than a month later, Sydney’s Grace Kim won her first major championship in unforgettable fashion, making eagle at the 72nd hole and the second playoff hole to win the Amundi Evian Championship.

It is the first time since the inception of the Greg Norman Medal in 2015 that there have been two Aussie major winners in the same year, Lee’s stellar LPGA Tour season securing a fourth Medal.

“It has been an extremely satisfying year personally and for the fantastic team around me, and I am thrilled to receive the Greg Norman Medal,” said Lee, a Greg Norman Medal winner in 2018, 2021 and 2023.

“Winning another major was obviously a highlight this year, but watching Grace win her first at Evian was certainly another moment to remember.

“I have no doubt she will be nominated for plenty more awards like this one for years to come.

“Playing with Grace, as well as Hannah (Green) and Steph (Kyriacou), and winning the International Crown representing Australia was another high point of a great year, and shows the strength of Australian women on the world stage.

“I want to thank everyone in my team for the support and guidance they have given me these past 12 months, all the Aussie fans who follow us each and every week, and the PGA of Australia for this prestigious honour.”

PGA of Australia CEO, Gavin Kirkman, congratulated not only Lee, but all PGA Awards winners and nominees.

“The strength of golf in Australia is built upon the contributions made by our PGA Professionals, with their influence spanning every level of the game,” said Kirkman.

“Winning a fourth Greg Norman Medal is testament not only to Minjee’s exceptional talent and determination, but also the guidance she has received over many years by long-time coach and PGA Member award winner, Ritchie Smith.

“Whether guiding major champions, finding fun ways to bring juniors into our sport, managing facilities, or providing wonderful experiences plus service to golf club members across Australia, PGA Professionals are the custodians driving our sport forward.

“I wish to congratulate all our PGA Awards nominees and winners and thank them for their contributions and how they have impacted golf in Australia and overseas over the past 12 months.”

It was double cause for celebration for the Lee team with coach Ritchie Smith named the PGA National Coach of the Year – High Performance for the second straight year.

A passionate advocate for All Abilities golf, Mark Tibbles from The Vines Resort and Country Club in took out the PGA National Coach of the Year – Game Development gong while Yamba Golf Club’s Jamie Corkill was named 2025 PGA National Club Professional of the Year.

PGA Professionals in management roles were also acknowledged with Carbrook Golf Club’s Scott Wagstaff the 2025 PGA National Management Professional of the Year and Ian Roberts named International PGA Professional of the Year for his work as the General Manager at Singapore Island Country Club.

Year 2 Associate Joseph Hodgson was named PGA National Associate of the Year for his excellence in the Membership Pathway Program at Mount Osmond Golf Club in South Australia and The National Golf Club’s Wendy Dragojlo was acknowledged as the MyGolf powered by Ripper GC Deliverer of the Year.

On our domestic tours, reigning BMW Australian PGA champion and Order of Merit winner Elvis Smylie was named Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia Player of the Year, Kirsten Rudgeley made it four wins for West Australians with the Margie Masters WPGA Tour of Australasia Player of the Year award and Brad Burns took out the PGA Legends Tour Player of the Year.
